How about an Aptitude Test for our Netas

Haha... That might sound ridiculous because we, the citizens of free India have formed a habit of eschewing whenever it comes to Politics.

Jokes apart, I strongly feel that if the corporate sector commends Aptitude Tests, its for a reason. And the reason is to manage a business or an industry, special qualitative, quantitative and other skills (you know that better) are required.

The big idea is that if to manage a small business we require skills of such high standards, think about managing India, which is home to zillions of such companies. And that's not it! We still have a lot many issues pertaining to other sectors like Defence, Health, Water, Power, Population, Pollution, Unemployment, Communal Harmony and so on...

Building up a bit more on the same lines, how about experienced editors and reporters of leading news journals stepping into politics after an enriching career in the said field? Because editors are someone who have the best of ideas available to tackle the situation at hands always and every time. I am not being sarcastic but this really makes sense as it would bring out many more aspects of politics which regular politicians cant write about!

A THOUGHT PROVOKING POST INDEED! :)

I have had similar thoughts...and as you have said
//how about experienced editors and reporters of leading news journals stepping into politics after an enriching career in the said field? //
We have some remarkable academicians too , we can try to get such people into politics. Also the administrators with innovative ideas! :)
But all this would happen only if we want a good government & our present politicians may kill you & me for even thinking this way!

Nandigram is one big example for what/ how efficient t govt is at handling issues...
Nice blog...
Cheers,
Marutham

Of course, academicians, journalists and the likes are superb contenders, but what also matters is leadership skills and politics management.

Nandigram is a sad example of what we Indians are capable of, but not doing with full force.

What is required is many more protests, powerful protests against government coups. Nandigram protested, but where was rest of India? Leave aside India, where was rest of West Bengal?

It has been proved time and again that if citizens unite together in true sense against treacherous Govt plans and schemes, they have forced Govt to retract.

The problem with India is that the massive middle class is a silent observer indulged in moaning over Govt inefficiency, but not ready to do something about it... Why? Coz who cares till the fire lights up my own house... Bastards all of them !!!

Ya we need some 3 hours question paper for them which could not be written but oral.Since if it is a written paper then it could be leaked. The oral test and gd is a better way.And putting editors as the neta's is a better idea. But still there are bad editors who need only circulation of their magazine books at any cost .SO what can we dooo??!!!!!!!!1

//Nandigram protested, but where was rest of India? Leave aside India, where was rest of West Bengal? // VERY TRUE>..
We go missing for each other & when we need someone- u have no one to look back to....
It is immaterial whether we are affected or not..but what they face may any time be what the rest of India would be facing.
But hats off to the nandigram people atleast they are ready to sound off even after losing life & facing all the cheap threats from the upper hand- the politicians.

And any firm that has its foundation on blood shed filed is sure to end up there. And i still wonder why the Industrialists behave like NUMB people.
Leave alone the politicians, they are used to these cruel tricks.

//Why? Coz who cares till the fire lights up my own house... Bastards all of them !!!//
Pretty strongly put there Rushal :) ... but yes TRUE!

Hey Rushal,
I liked the idea of Aptitude test. How about UPSC pattern? I just don't understand, for I.A.S., I.P.S., I.R.S. we have 2 exams,Interview, merit list and all.. But why not for politicians? This is the biggest flaw in law.. In a small private company or in a government job or in a multinational company, we have to give aptitude, Interview in order to get along with the small post.. Then why not for Politicians and especially for all the Ministers?
